A resource for starting or growing your business.

Who We Are

We are a subsidiary of the Southwest Community Investment Corporation, a 501(c)3 Border Non-Profit Organization whose goal is to promote economic development and job creation.

There are over 106 Women’s Business Centers nationwide and what makes us unique is our border location and our idiosyncrasy as we merge two cultures and two languages. The WBC serves the Rio Grande Valley, an area that includes the counties of Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr and Willacy.  These are the four, southern-most counties in the State of Texas, covering a 4,240 sq. mile area, with a combined population of 1,170,776. As evidenced, since its inception in 2004, the WBC has provided assistance to over 7,000 individuals in a variety of business areas of which 90% are women.

We provide comprehensive business training for individuals wanting to start or expand their business

We provide professional one-on-one business counseling by appointment to entrepreneurs.

We assist individuals in understanding and incorporating a more formal business model.
